Diagram text is indexed, so a label inside a shape is findable from ordinary Confluence search. For browsing rather than searching, the Capable Diagrams catalogue lists every diagram on the pages you can read.

#Ways to find one

The All diagrams view in the Capable Diagrams app, a grid of diagram thumbnails each captioned with a title, a link to its page and an author avatar.
The list gathers every indexed diagram in the space, each thumbnail naming the page it sits on and who made it.

Search the title as normal.

A diagram containing a particular label

Search the label text; shape text is indexed.

Every diagram in a space

Open the catalogue and choose All diagrams under Diagrams on pages, or use Capable Search with a diagram filter. See Integrations.

Diagrams you grouped earlier

Choose the collection under Collections. See Diagram collections.

Diagrams nobody links to

A space graph shows orphans. See Space graph macro.

In the table view, the Type column shows each diagram's language as a coloured tag, the same name and colour you see on the grid and list cards and in the diagram's details, so a Mermaid diagram reads as Mermaid everywhere.

#A few things that catch people out

  • You only find diagrams on pages you can read.

  • Text inside an imported image is not indexed; only real diagram text is.

  • Very large diagrams index their text but may truncate at the limits in Reference.

  • Templates and built-in examples are not diagrams on pages, so they appear under Templates and Examples, not under All diagrams.
