Collection membership delay
A collection lists its diagrams by asking Confluence's search index which diagrams carry its tag. The tag is saved the moment you add a diagram, but the index takes from a few seconds to a few minutes to notice.
Capable shows your own additions and removals straight away while you stay on the page. The gap only shows if you reload during that window.
#What you are seeing
You added a diagram to a collection, reloaded, and it is not listed.
You removed a diagram, reloaded, and it is still listed.
The count next to a collection is one out for a short while.
#Work through these in order
Check | What it means and what to do |
|---|---|
Open the diagram | The Collections row in its Details panel reads the saved membership directly, so it is always right. If the collection is listed there, the change is saved. |
What to do | Wait a few minutes and reload the collection. |
What not to do | Do not add the diagram again. It is already in the collection. |
Still wrong after ten minutes | Worth reporting, with the collection name, the diagram and its page. |
#A few things that catch people out
Someone who cannot read a diagram's page never sees it in a collection. That is permissions, not this delay. See Diagram permissions.
The same index also drives search, so a brand new diagram has the same short delay there. See Template indexing delay.
