Organise Confluence diagrams into collections

To organise Confluence diagrams into collections, open the Capable Diagrams catalogue, select Create collection under Space collections or Global collections, then drag diagrams from Diagrams on pages onto it. Each diagram stays on its page; the collection just groups it, and one diagram can sit in several collections.

To

You need

Create a collection

Permission to create content in the space, or in the global space for a global collection.

Add a diagram to it

Edit access to the page the diagram is on.

#Steps

  1. Open the Capable Diagrams catalogue for the space.

  2. In the sidebar, under Collections, go to Space collections, or Global collections if it should span spaces.

  3. Select Create collection and give it a name.

  4. Open Diagrams on pages and switch to the grid view if you are not in it.

  5. Drag a diagram, or a selection of diagrams, onto the new collection in the sidebar. Alternatively, right-click a diagram, open Collections and tick the collection.

  6. Select the collection in the sidebar to check what is in it.

#What happens next

  • The diagram stays on its page, unchanged. No new diagram version is created.

  • Its Details panel lists the collection under Collections, where you can also use Add to collection or remove it again.

  • To take a diagram out while viewing the collection, right-click it and choose Remove from this collection.

#If it does not work

  • A diagram you just added is missing after a reload: wait a few minutes for the search index. See Collection membership delay.

  • Dragging does nothing in list or table view. Switch to the grid view, or open the diagram and use its Details panel.

  • No Create collection button: you cannot create content in that space. Ask a space administrator.

Grouped for you, still where they belong.
