Migrate from draw.io to Capable Diagrams in Confluence
To migrate from draw.io for Confluence to Capable Diagrams, a Confluence administrator opens the Migration tab in the app's global settings, picks draw.io and its macros, runs Perform verification as a dry run, then Start migration. Every changed page gets a new "Migrated by Capable" version, so any page can be put back from its history.
#Before you start
You are a Confluence administrator.
Pick a pilot space for the first run. A small batch shows you the real failure rate in minutes.
Plan to keep the browser tab open while the run is going.
#Steps
In Confluence administration, open the app's settings page (Capable, or Capable Diagrams for the standalone app) and select the Migration tab.
Read Introduction, then go to Options. Leave Skip errors on. Turn on Keep source macros if you want to compare old and new side by side in the pilot space.
In Select apps, choose draw.io.
In Select macros, choose the draw.io macros to convert, and narrow the pages to your pilot space.
Select Perform verification. It runs over real pages and writes nothing. Read the results.
When you are happy, select Start migration.
#What happens next
The run reports progress page by page. Failures are logged and the run carries on.
Each page it changes gets a new version labelled "Migrated by Capable".
Re-run later for more spaces, or for pages that failed once you have fixed the cause.
#If it does not work
Pages you cannot edit are skipped and reported as permission failures. The Use Admin Key (experimental) option under Advanced options lets an administrator migrate them.
To undo, restore a page from its Confluence page history, or use Roll back pages with the run's migration log to restore every page the run changed.
