Welcome to Capable
Welcome to Capable, the all-in-one solution for your Confluence needs.
Confluence teams often need to solve connected problems - keeping content moving, making information easier to find, improving quality, and creating pages people can actually use - without stitching together a patchwork of separate tools.
Capable brings those workflows together as one solution layer for Confluence, helping teams reduce complexity, standardise how work gets done, and focus on better outcomes instead of managing multiple plugins.
Whether you are reviewing content, organising schedules, publishing trusted information, or improving page experiences, Capable gives your team a simpler way to turn Confluence into a complete workspace.
#What is a Capability?
A Capability is a focused solution within Capable that helps teams solve a specific Confluence challenge, such as improving content quality, managing approvals, organising schedules, or creating clearer pages. Each capability works together as part of a connected workspace, so teams can achieve better outcomes without relying on separate tools or fragmented processes.
Capabilities are available individually (e.g. Capable Approval for Confluence) or bundled in the all-in-one app (Capable for Confluence), which includes all capabilities at one price.
Examples of capabilities:
#How do I use Capabilities on my pages?
Using Capabilities on your pages is simple. Once you have installed Capable, you will see a new toolbar item at the top of your Confluence pages. This toolbar contains all the capabilities that are available for you to use.
Hint - You can also press , (comma) on your keyboard to open the Capable menu
Once you've opened the menu, simply click on the capability you want to use or search through all available functions using Intelligent search (search templates, macros etc.)
We keep your toolbar clean by adding items only when relevant.

#How do I access the main dashboard?
The main dashboard is where you can manage all your capabilities and settings. To access it, click on the "Capable" button in the space sidebar, or the Apps menu.
Depending on how you open Capable, it will only show data from that scope, making it easy to focus on specific pages. Opening the app from the Apps menu will show all data, whereas opening the app from the Space sidebar will show only data in that space.
The navigation bar provides an easy way to access the capabilities available to you.

#How do I add macros to my page?
Adding macros to your page is easy with Capable. Simply type /capable and select the macro you want to add (you can also browse the macros from the + in the toolbar) or use the Capable Studio macro to access all of the macros.

#Setting up notifications
With Capable, you can set up notifications to stay updated on changes and updates to your pages related to capabilities. To do this, go to the main dashboard and look at the "Integrations" panel. From here, you can customize your notification settings and choose how you want to be notified.

#How do I pin capabilities to pages in specific Spaces?
With Capable, you can pin capabilities to specific spaces in your Confluence. This allows you to have different capabilities available in different spaces. To do this, go to the Space you'd like to customize and click on the "Space settings" item in the sidepanel and then click on 'Capable' in the list.
From here you can configure capabilities to be shown:
Automatic - show the byline item if there is relevant data on the page
Always on - always show the capability at the top of the page
Always off - disable the capability in this space
