Capable Sites
When a Confluence space is published as a website, its diagrams are published with it: rendered properly, sized by the same display settings, and with links inside diagrams still working.
That last part is the reason to publish rather than export. A PDF flattens a clickable diagram; a site does not.

Public documentation built from Confluence content.
Customer-facing knowledge bases with architecture or process diagrams.
Any site where readers will never have Confluence accounts.

#A few things that catch people out
Site readers are anonymous readers. Everything on that page applies here too.
Dark mode on a published site follows the site theme, which is why space dark mode settings matter.
