DMN keyboard shortcuts

Most DMN work is in a table, so the shortcuts that matter are the ones that move between cells.

#Worth knowing

  • The editor has to have focus for any of these to work.

  • On macOS, Cmd replaces Ctrl throughout.

  • Escape cancels whatever you are in the middle of.

#A few things that catch people out

  • Tab through a table rather than clicking. It is several times faster for a long rule set.

  • Escape cancels a cell edit without committing, which is the safe way out of a mistake.

  • Undo works across both views, so an accidental deletion on the diagram is recoverable.

Draw the map before writing the rules.
