Space diagram settings
Space settings are the most useful lever in the app: set a display mode, dark mode behaviour and sizing once, and every diagram in the space that is set to inherit follows.
That is nearly all of them, because inherit is the default on every macro.
#When you would change this
A space where diagrams are consistently the wrong size.
Documentation spaces that need diagram titles for accessibility and search.
Publishing a space where dark mode behaviour matters.
#What you can set
Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
Display mode | Auto, Fixed, Max or Classic, for every inheriting diagram. |
Dark mode | Whether diagrams adapt to a dark theme. |
Proportional sizing | Auto-height instead of a fixed box. |
Native scrolling | Scrollbars instead of pan and zoom. |
Smart Scale | Stops small diagrams being blown up to fill the column. |
Require titles | Prompts authors to title diagrams, which helps search and screen readers. |
#A few things that catch people out
Space settings only affect macros set to inherit. A macro with an explicit value keeps it.
Changing a space default changes existing pages immediately. Look at a busy page afterwards.
Space admin is enough; you do not need site admin for these.
