Lost or unsaved diagram changes
Saving is deliberate rather than automatic, which means it is possible to close an editor with unsaved work. There are two recovery routes, and it is worth knowing them before you need them.
The first is a draft snapshot; the second is version history, which holds every saved version of the diagram.
#What you are seeing
The editor closed or reloaded before you saved.
A change was saved and you want the previous version back.
Somebody else overwrote your edit.
#Work through these in order
Check | What it means and what to do |

Reopen the editor | If a draft snapshot exists, you will be offered it. Take it before doing anything else. |
Check version history | Every save creates a version. Earlier versions can be viewed and restored. |
Check the page history | If the macro itself was removed, the page history has it. |
Was it a reference? | Editing through a reference edits the original, so look at the source page's history. |
#A few things that catch people out
Save before closing. The X in the editor is a cancel, not a save.
Version history is per diagram, not per page, so restoring a diagram does not roll back the page.
