Add an event to a Confluence calendar
To add an event to a Confluence calendar, open a saved calendar in Capable Calendar and click the day, or drag across the days or hours it covers. The Create Event form opens. Enter a name, set the dates and times, add people, links and tags if you want them, then select Create Event.
#Before you start
You need edit rights on the calendar, which follow the space it is saved in. Built-in calendars, such as Recently viewed pages, are read-only.
You need a saved calendar. If you do not have one yet, see Create a shared team calendar in Confluence.
To add events from a page instead, the Calendar (Capable) macro needs a saved calendar as its Source and Event editing turned on.
#Steps
Open Capable Calendar from the space sidebar or the Apps menu. In the suite, open Capable and choose Calendar. Then choose the calendar under Space calendars or Global calendars.
Click the day the event happens on. For an event that spans several days or set hours, drag across them in Month, Week or Day view. You can also select Create event (the plus) at the top left.
Enter a name between 4 and 100 characters. Optionally set a Priority, a short Description and a Color.
Check the start and end, turn on All day for a whole-day event, and change the time zone if the event is tied to another place.
Use the tabs under the dates: Details for longer notes, Users for the people involved, Links for related Confluence pages and Tags for the calendar's tags.
Select Create Event.
#What happens next
The event appears on the calendar straight away for everyone who can see it, and on every page that shows this calendar. People who subscribe to the calendar in Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook usually see it within 5 to 15 minutes.
There are no repeating events. For a weekly meeting, add one event per occurrence.
#If it does not work
Clicking a day does not open the form. You do not have edit rights on the calendar, and a message says so, or the macro on the page has Event editing off. See Cannot create or edit events in a shared calendar.
The event will not save. Check the name is at least 4 characters long.
