A Capable calendar draws its events from three sources. Throughout the settings, these are called event types:

  • Capable Event macros that people add to pages.

  • Confluence's own date chips on pages.

  • In-Calendar Events saved inside a Capable calendar.

Dates on pages are read live, every time a calendar is shown, so the calendar always matches the page as it is now.

Calendar subscriptions

Confluence settings → Capable (Capable Calendar in the standalone app) → Features

Lets users subscribe to Capable calendars from Google, Apple or Outlook with a personal iCal feed. Turn it off to stop subscriptions for everyone. Only shows when your installed app includes Calendar.

Calendar (global settings tab)

Confluence settings → Capable → Calendar

The Calendar subscriptions card lists the personal iCal feed links your users have generated, with the user, calendar, status and created date. Use Previous and Next to page through.

Calendar capability visibility

Space settings → Capable → capability list → Calendar

Auto shows the Calendar byline where it's relevant. In the Suite, that means only on pages Capable has already found dates on. Always turns Calendar on for the space. Never hides it there.

#Worth knowing

  • Events are shown in each viewer's own timezone. The Base Timezone setting says so in its on-screen description.
