Capable Dashboard has a Calendar widget, with the helper text "View upcoming dates from pages". It gives you a quick look at what's coming up, gathering dates from three places: pages you've recently viewed, pages where you're mentioned, and pages Capable has indexed as having dates in the range you're looking at. You can resize the widget to suit your dashboard.

It's the only calendar view that uses Capable's date index.

#Worth knowing

  • Capable indexes up to 200 distinct dates per page. On a very date-heavy page, dates beyond that may not reach the widget.

  • Dates you've only just added to a page can take a little while to be indexed, so give them a moment before they show.

Calendar subscriptions

Confluence settings → Capable → Features (Capable Calendar → Features in the standalone app)

"Let users subscribe to Capable calendars from Google, Apple, or Outlook via a personal iCal feed. Turn off to disable subscriptions for all users." Only appears when the installed app includes the Calendar capability. Turning it off stops new links being created. Links already handed out keep working until you revoke them.

Calendar (global settings tab)

Confluence settings → Capable → Calendar

A card called "Calendar subscriptions" listing the personal iCal feed links your users have created, with user, calendar, status and created date. The list is paged with Previous and Next. Only Confluence administrators can see the list.

Calendar capability visibility

Space settings → Capable → capability list → Calendar

Auto shows the Calendar byline where it's relevant. In the Suite, that means only on pages Capable has already indexed as having dates. Always turns Calendar on for the space, and Never hides it there. It works the same way as the visibility setting for every other capability.
