Import an .ics file into a Confluence calendar
To import an .ics file into a Confluence calendar, open the saved calendar, choose Import from iCal from its menu, and drop the file in. Capable shows the events it will import and any it will skip, then Import adds them as ordinary events your team can edit. Export the .ics file from Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar first.
#Before you start
You need permission to edit the saved calendar.
Built-in calendars, such as Mentions and Recently viewed pages, cannot take imports.
Recurring events import as their first occurrence only.
#Steps
Export the calendar from your other app as an .ics file.
In Confluence, open the saved calendar on the Calendar page.
Open the calendar's menu and choose Import from iCal.
Drop the file onto Drop an .ics file here, or select it.
Check the list under Events to import.
Click the import button (it shows how many events, for example Import 12 events), then Done.
#What happens next
The events appear in the calendar and in any subscription feed for it. They are copies: changing the original calendar later does not update them.
#If it does not work
Some events were skipped. Events with no start date, with titles shorter than 4 characters, or coming from Jira integrations are skipped on purpose.
It says No importable events found in this file. The file holds none of the events Capable can import. Check you exported events, not just the calendar settings.
