Fix a Confluence calendar that is not loading

If a Confluence calendar is not loading, read the message on it. An error occurred while fetching events and Loading took longer than expected both offer a retry button, so try that first. If a note says a calendar did not load, select Retry; a calendar you can no longer access stays hidden until you remove it as a source.

#Before you start

  • Anyone who can see the calendar can retry.

#Steps

  1. Select Try again or Retry loading events on the message.

  2. If the bar at the bottom says a calendar did not load, select Retry beside it. Capable already backs off and retries on its own for a short while.

  3. On the Calendar page, open Display & export options and choose Refresh. On a page, reload the browser tab.

  4. Switch to Month or Week view. Year view asks for far more events at once.

  5. If one calendar never loads, you may have lost access to it. Ask for access to its space, or remove it in Manage calendars on My calendar.

#If it does not work

  • Sign in to view this calendar means the events are only visible to signed-in readers.

  • A notice instead of the calendar for unlicensed or signed-out people is expected. See Unlicensed or signed-out visitor sees a notice.

  • If the error comes back on every retry, contact Capable support with the page link and the time it happened.

Retry first. It fixes most of these.
