Export a Confluence calendar to CSV or iCal

To export a Confluence calendar, open it on the Capable Calendar page, select Display & export options (the three dots) and choose Export as CSV or Export as iCal. The file downloads straight away and holds the events loaded for the period on screen, with a margin either side.

#Before you start

  • Export from the Calendar page itself. The export items in the Calendar macro's compact menu on a page do not work at the moment; see the troubleshooting note.

  • The export options are greyed out when no events are loaded.

#Steps

  1. Open Capable Calendar from the space sidebar or the Apps menu. In the suite, open Capable and choose Calendar. Then choose the calendar.

  2. Move to the period you want. For a whole year, switch to Year view first.

  3. Select Display & export options and choose Export as CSV or Export as iCal.

  4. Open events.csv in your spreadsheet tool, or import the .ics file into another calendar app.

What you get

CSV

One row per event with Event Name, Start Time, End Time, All day, Timezone, Content Id, Local Id and User.

iCal (.ics)

Each event with its dates and attendees, ready to import into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook.

#A few things that catch people out

  • An export is a snapshot. To keep another calendar app up to date, subscribe to the calendar instead; changes usually arrive within 5 to 15 minutes.

  • To export one event, open it and select Export calendar event (the download icon).
