Switch a Confluence calendar between month, week and agenda view

To switch a Confluence calendar between views, open the Display & export options menu (the three dots) and pick Day, Week, Month, Year or Agenda. To set the view a page calendar opens in, edit the Calendar macro and choose a View on the Content tab.

#Before you start

  • On the Calendar page anyone can change the view. Inside a Calendar macro on a page, readers cannot; they open the calendar full size first. Only page editors change the view a macro opens in.

  • Agenda is the list view: a week of events in date order. There is no separate timeline view.

#Change the view while reading

  1. On the Calendar page, select Display & export options (the three dots) at the top right. On a page, first select the maximise button at the top right of the calendar, then the view button at the top left.

  2. Choose Day, Week, Month, Year or Agenda.

  3. Use the arrows either side of the title, or click the title to jump to a month or year. Go to today brings you back.

#Set the view a page calendar opens in

  1. Edit the page and open the settings of the Calendar (Capable) macro.

  2. On the Content tab, under Display, choose a View.

  3. Set Start on to Last event, Today or Custom, then publish the page.

#A few things that catch people out

  • A saved calendar has its own default Calendar View, plus Hide weekends, Week start day and Show week numbers, in its settings.

  • In Month and Year view, a busy day shows +N more. Turn on Always show all events in the macro to list every event instead.

Month for the big picture, Day for the detail.
