Most of what makes Calendar worth having in the suite comes from what sits next to it. This page is the summary; each connection has its own page with the detail.

Where a connection does not exist, it is listed as such rather than left out, so you can stop looking.

Capable Search

A "Dates" column (a count pill of dates found on each result page) and a "Calendar" side panel subtitled "View dates from the page", badged with the number of dates found. Ships in both products.

Confluence homepage feed

A card titled "Calendar", described as "See the latest updates from your calendar", shown only to signed-in users. Read-only agenda list; double-click navigates to the source page.

Capable Dashboard

A resizable widget named "Calendar", helper text "View upcoming dates from pages", combining recently-viewed pages, pages you are mentioned on, and the indexed date range. This is the only surface that uses the date search index.

Confluence CQL search

Three search fields backed by the date index: "Capable Date Start", "Capable Date End" and "Capable Date Users".

Capable Sites

All three macros export to a static site. Calendar mounts a working grid from a generated events file plus a downloadable .ics; Event renders an inline pill plus an .ics button; Clock ticks in the visitor's browser.

Google Calendar, Apple Calendar and Outlook

One-way, read-only subscription by personal iCal feed link, with one-click hand-off buttons for each.

External .ics files

One-way import into a saved calendar from the calendar catalogue.

Capable Approval

None. Approval review and expiry dates do not appear on calendars, and calendar events do not drive approvals.

Jira

None released. See notShipped.

Org brand themes

None. Applying a brand theme does not restyle the Calendar, Clock or Event macro. Only the manual Style tab values take effect.

PDF and Word export

None. Exporting a page containing any of the three macros produces a warning panel reading "PDF exports are currently not supported for <macro title>".

#A few things worth knowing

  • A connection needs both halves installed. In a standalone app most of these do not exist.

  • Anything that depends on search only reflects pages that have been indexed.

  • Published sites render Capable macros properly, which is where several of these pay off.
