Deploying is refused with "Deploy limit reached" even though I have barely deployed this site

What you are seeing

You try to deploy and get "Deploy limit reached", even though you have hardly deployed this site at all.

#Why it happens

The limit of 12 deploys an hour applies to each site and also to all your sites together. Deploys of your other sites use the same shared allowance, so this site can be blocked even when it has barely been touched. Zip exports and promotions to production count towards it too.

#What to do

Wait for the hour to roll over, then deploy again. To see how much of the allowance is left, open Usage & Limits and check Deploys this hour / 12.
