Published image downloads as WebP even though it is a .png
#What you are seeing
You download an image from your published site. The file name still ends in .png, but the file itself is a WebP image.
#Why it happens
When you publish, Capable Sites converts pixel-based images, such as PNG and JPEG files, to WebP. The converted file keeps its original name, so diagram.png stays diagram.png even though it is now WebP inside.
#What to do
Nothing. This is expected, and your site is working as it should.
If visitors need the image in its original format, link to the file in Confluence instead.
