Change the URL of a page on a published Confluence site
To change the URL of a page on a published Confluence site, open the site in Capable Sites, choose Pages, select the page, open More details and type a new Slug. Select Save metadata, then Update and Promote. The page moves to its new address, and the old address forwards visitors there automatically.
#Before you start
You need to be a Confluence admin or a collaborator on the site.
By default a page's address comes from its title, such as
/docs/getting-started. The slug is the last part.To move a whole space, change its URL slug in Settings > Spaces & URLs instead. That needs an admin, and old space addresses are not redirected for you.
#Steps
Open Capable, choose Sites, open your site and choose Pages.
Select the page. Its Page metadata panel opens on the right.
Open More details.
Type the new address part in Slug, using letters, numbers and dashes. The preview underneath shows the full path.
Select Save metadata.
On the site's Overview, select Update, wait for it to finish, then select Promote.
Open the old address and check it forwards to the new one.
#What happens next
The page is published at its new address, and a redirect from the old address is added for you. If you change the slug again later, every earlier address keeps forwarding. Renaming a page in Confluence works the same way when it changes the address.
If the slug has anything else in it, saving stops with Slug can only contain letters, numbers, and dashes.
