What you are seeing

You add a custom domain to your site and it fails with "Domain is already in use on another CloudFront distribution".

#Why it happens

Amazon CloudFront lets a domain belong to only one distribution across the whole of AWS. An old CloudFront distribution of yours still claims this domain, so your site can't take it.

#What to do

  1. Check every AWS account you own for a CloudFront distribution that still lists the domain as an alias.

  2. Remove the domain from that distribution, or delete the distribution if you no longer need it.

  3. Wait about 5 minutes.

  4. Press Retry.
