What you are seeing

You search your published site for a word or phrase you know is on a page, but that page does not show up in the results.

#Why it happens

Search on the published site matches page titles only. The text in the body of a page is never indexed, so a word that appears only in the body will not bring the page up.

#What to do

  • Make sure the words people are likely to search for appear in the page title.

  • If a page is hard to title that way, link to it directly from related pages so visitors can reach it without searching.
