A setting appears to do nothing

Macros with lots of settings always have a few that only make sense in some configurations. Rather than hide them, we leave most of them visible, where they simply have no effect.

To check, open the macro's own page. It lists which of its settings are conditional.

Alignment on Cards

Columns is set to Auto, because the grid then fills the width

Height on a diagram or embed

The macro is in a mode that sizes itself

The macro requires a destination, so the option is hidden rather than ignored

A brand colour

The macro has a freeform colour set, which wins

On the Cards Style tab, Columns and Alignment sit together under Layout. With Columns set to Auto, the grid fills the width, so Alignment has nothing to do.

#A few things worth knowing

  • A freeform colour overrides a brand role and is not updated when the brand changes.

  • A settings change can take up to a minute to reach other people. If someone already has the page open, allow up to five minutes.

  • If a setting does nothing in a mode where it should work, please report it. That one is on us.
