Readers without a licence or an account
Public spaces and published sites mean some of your readers have no Confluence account at all. Most macros handle that fine; a few cannot.
The rule of thumb is simple. Anything that renders from the settings saved in the macro works. Anything that has to fetch something when the page loads does not.
#What works
Macros that render from their own saved settings: panels, cards, buttons, tabs, footnotes, code, maths.
Anything on a published site, because it was rendered when the site was published.

This is how Confluence permissions and licensing work, not a bug. Confluence does not let an app fetch content on behalf of a reader it cannot identify.
#A few things worth knowing
Test a public page while logged out, or in a private browser window. It is the only reliable way to see what your readers see.
If your Confluence site has no active licence for the app, readers see licence panels in place of macro content. That is a different problem from the one on this page.
Published sites are the better route for anonymous audiences, because their content is rendered when the site is published.
