Shared image picker (Formatting macros)
The Images capability contributes a 'Capable Images' accordion section to the shared image picker used by the Formatting Banner, Cards, Gallery, Compare and Background macro configs. It searches the current space library and the global library together.
#Important
On select it hands back a direct, persistable image URL. Never a live Capable reference. Those macros therefore never follow later library edits, and if the library image is deleted the macro is left pointing at a dead URL with no notice at all.

Suite in practice. The section is contributed by Images and consumed by Formatting; the standalone Images app bundles no Formatting capability, so there is nothing there to consume it.

#Worth knowing
Standalone Images has no space settings screen, so there is no per-space configuration surface of any kind in that app.
The Indexing tab is not available in standalone Images, so there is no way to force a reindex there when the search index lags.
The Migration tab never appears for the Images app. Standalone-to-Suite migration is started from the Suite side.
Customer-managed egress domains are unavailable in standalone Images. That app declares no external permissions block at all.
Images cannot be turned off per space from the released UI. The Space settings screen only shows the Auto/Always/Never control for capabilities that can be pinned to the nav bar, and Images cannot be pinned, so its row is a static 'Available from Capable Menu' badge. There is no Capabilities (global hide) tab in the standalone Images app, so a standalone customer cannot hide the capability instance-wide from the app either.
