Page statuses
Each page in a publishing-enabled space carries a status that tells you whether its published copy can be trusted. You see it in the page byline, in the lists on the Publishing space page and in Capable Search.

Desynced | Out of sync | Someone edited the published copy in the target space. Tooltip: Page has been published but is out of sync. |

Missing source | Invalid | The source page could not be found. |
Missing target | Invalid | The published copy could not be found. This is only noticed on the next publish attempt. |
Publish Failed | Failed | The last publish failed. Open the byline item to see the reason. |
Unpublished | Unpublished | The page has never been published. |
Unpublishable | Unpublished | The page cannot be published as things stand, for example because its parent page is not published. A manual publish can still publish the parents first. |
The Invalid list also includes pages that were published to a different target space from the one now set.
#Acting on a status
On the Dashboard, each status with pages in it has a button that acts on all of them: Publish for Unpublished, Update for Outdated and Moved, Retry for Invalid and Failed. Each button includes every page in that status, however many there are.
#A few things that catch people out
Moving a source page back to its original parent clears Moved and returns it to Published.
An edit to the target page only counts as Out of sync once the app has re-checked the target and confirmed that it really changed. Changes the app makes itself stay Published.
Folders and blog posts never appear in the lists, even though folders are published and tracked.
Lists and counts come from Confluence search, so a status change can take a few minutes to show there, though the byline is current.
With Preserve hierarchy, an approved page whose parent is not published yet shows Published, but sits under its nearest published ancestor until the parent is published.
