Publish a Confluence page automatically when it is approved
To publish a Confluence page automatically when it is approved, enable publishing for the space, then open Space settings for Approval, go to the Overrides tab and turn on Publish on approval. Every page approved from then on is copied to the target space, with its approvers recorded, and the page tree is kept whatever order approvals arrive in.
#Before you start
You need | Why |
|---|---|
An app with both Approval and Publishing | The standalone Publishing app has no approvals. |
Space administrator of the space | To change Approval and Publishing settings. |
Publishing enabled with a target space | There must be somewhere to publish to. |
#Steps
Make sure publishing is enabled with a target space. See Publish Confluence pages from a draft space to a live space.
Open the space's Approval settings and select the Overrides tab.
Turn on Publish on approval and save.
When the next approval reaches Approved, the page is queued and published.
#What happens next
The byline shows Published with the tooltip Published via Approval, and Approved by lists the approvers. If a parent page is not published yet, the page goes under its nearest published ancestor and moves under its parent once that is published. To turn it on for one page only, use Publish on approval in the approval's options instead.
