Turn off Confluence approval emails
To stop Confluence approval emails for yourself, open Notifications under Manage in the Approval sidebar and switch off Send me email notifications. It changes nothing for anybody else. A site administrator can turn approval emails off for everyone with the Email notifications switch on the Notifications tab in Global settings.
#Before you start
You need | Why |
|---|---|
Anyone | To change your own emails. |
A Confluence site administrator | To turn approval emails off for the whole site. |
#Turn them off for yourself
In the Approval sidebar, open Notifications under Manage. You can also use the Notifications section of your Capable settings.
Switch off Send me email notifications (or Email in your Capable settings).
The same page has Send me Slack notifications and Send me Microsoft Teams notifications, so you can move your notifications to chat instead of turning them off altogether.
#Turn them off for everyone
Open Global settings. Site administrators find it under Manage in the Approval sidebar, or in Confluence administration.
On the Notifications tab, switch off Email notifications on the Email card.
#What happens next
Your choice applies to this Confluence site only.
A site-wide switch beats a personal one. If an administrator turns email off, nobody gets it, whatever their own setting says.
Requests still appear on your Approval dashboard and under the page title, so nothing is lost. See See which Confluence pages are waiting for my approval.
