Send a Confluence page for approval

To send a Confluence page for approval, select Approval in the Capable row under the page title, add approvers by name or from Recent users, optionally set how many must approve under the settings cog, then select Send requests. Everyone you asked is notified straight away, and the status shows under the title.

#Before you start

You need

Why

Edit permission on the page

Raising an approval needs edit permission.

Permission to raise approvals in the space

A space can limit who raises approvals. See Space settings.

#Steps

  1. On the page, select Approval in the Capable row just under the page title.

  2. Search in Add approvers, or tick people under Recent users. You can also pick a team.

  3. Optionally, select the settings cog to set Minimum approvers, Minimum rejections, Expiry or Publish on approval, then select Save.

  4. Select Send requests.

#What happens next

  • The status under the title changes to In review and updates as people answer.

  • Reviewers get an email, plus Slack or Microsoft Teams if your site is connected.

  • If the page is edited before everyone answers, the review restarts on the new version. See How approvals work.

  • Choosing a team replaces everyone already on the approval, including anyone who has answered.

Sent. Now it chases itself.
