Approve or reject Confluence pages from Slack
Once your administrator has connected Slack and turned on Slack approval actions, each Confluence approval request arrives as a Slack message from Capable with Approve, Reject and Comment buttons. Pick one and add a note if you want (a comment needs text). Your answer is recorded on the page exactly as if you had answered in Confluence.
#Before you start
You need | Why |
|---|---|
Slack connected for your Confluence site | |
Slack approval actions turned on | Without it, messages have no buttons. |
A space that does not require an authenticator code | Slack cannot collect a code, so buttons are not offered there. |
#Steps
Open the approval request from Capable in Slack.
Select Approve, Reject or Comment.
Add a note if you want one. Comment needs text.
Send your answer. Capable records it against the page version the message was about.
#What happens next
Once the request is decided, Capable rewrites the Slack message so the buttons disappear and it shows the outcome. Your answer appears in the page's approval history like any other.
#If it does not work
Message | What happened |
|---|---|
This page changed since the request was sent | The page was edited, so the review restarted. Answer on the page. |
You can no longer respond to this request | You were removed from the approver list, or lost access to the page. |
This page was deleted, no approval is required | There is nothing left to approve. |
Approvals are read-only for now | Your site is moving its approvals to Capable for Confluence. Answer on the page once the move is finished. |
