Review Confluence pages on a schedule

To bring Confluence pages back for review on a schedule, set an expiry. Set it on one page in the approval options, on a team, or for a whole space with Approval expiry on the Overrides tab of Space Approval Settings. When it lapses, Capable resets the approval and asks the reviewers again.

#Before you start

You need

Why

Space administrator permission

For a space-wide schedule. Anyone raising an approval can set one on their page.

#Steps for a whole space

  1. In the space, open Space settings, then Capable (Capable Approval if you use the standalone app), to reach Space Approval Settings.

  2. Select the Overrides tab.

  3. Turn on Approval expiry.

  4. Choose 1 month, 3 months, 6 months or 1 year, a custom interval (at least 7 days), or an exact date.

  5. Save your changes.

For a single page, open Approval under the page title, select the settings cog and set Expiry instead. The most specific setting wins.

#What happens next

  • The clock starts once the approval is approved or rejected. It is not a deadline for answering.

  • Expiry is checked once an hour, so it can arrive up to an hour after the date.

  • Reviewers are reset and notified. For a team approval, Capable asks the team as it stands today: new members get a request, people who have left are not asked.

  • To see what lapses next, see Find Confluence pages whose approval is about to expire.
