Allow an external domain in Capable for Confluence
To let Capable for Confluence reach an external domain directly, a site administrator opens Global settings, selects the Egress tab, chooses Add domain, enters the domain and ticks which kinds of request are allowed, such as Images or Fonts. Up to 10 domains can be approved.
#Before you start
You need | Why |
|---|---|
A Confluence site administrator | Global settings is for site administrators only. |
A domain you control or trust | Approving a domain lets the app reach it directly from Confluence. It is a security decision. |
The latest app version | If the tab says Customer-managed egress isn't available yet, a site administrator first approves the new egress permission under Connected apps, Data management in the Atlassian Admin Hub, then reloads. |
#Steps
Open Global settings for Capable in Confluence administration. You can also select Open Global Settings in the General section of your Capable settings.
Select the Egress tab. The Egress domains card lists what is approved.
Select Add domain and type the domain, for example
api.example.com.Under Allowed egress types, tick only what you need: Images, Fetch (client-side), Fetch (backend-side), Frames, Media, Scripts, Styles or Fonts.
Select Add domain in the dialog. A message confirms Egress domain added.
#What happens next
Capable reaches that domain directly instead of through its proxy. To change what a domain may be used for, use the edit button on its row. To remove it, use the bin button and confirm Remove: requests to it go back through the proxy.
Approve only domains you control or trust, tick only the request types you need, and review the list from time to time.
#If it does not work
Add domain is greyed out: you have reached the limit of 10 domains. Remove one you no longer need.
That domain is already in the list: edit the existing row instead.
Select at least one egress type: tick at least one box before saving.
