# Allow an external domain in Capable for Confluence To let Capable for Confluence reach an external domain directly, a site administrator opens **Global settings**, selects the **Egress** tab, chooses **Add domain**, enters the domain and ticks which kinds of request are allowed, such as **Images** or **Fonts**. Up to 10 domains can be approved. --- ## Before you start | **You need** | **Why** | | ------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | A Confluence site administrator | Global settings is for site administrators only. | | A domain you control or trust | Approving a domain lets the app reach it directly from Confluence. It is a security decision. | | The latest app version | If the tab says **Customer-managed egress isn't available yet**, a site administrator first approves the new egress permission under **Connected apps**, **Data management** in the Atlassian Admin Hub, then reloads. | --- ## Steps 1. Open **Global settings** for Capable in Confluence administration. You can also select **Open Global Settings** in the **General** section of your Capable settings. 2. Select the **Egress** tab. The **Egress domains** card lists what is approved. 3. Select **Add domain** and type the domain, for example `api.example.com`. 4. Under **Allowed egress types**, tick only what you need: **Images**, **Fetch (client-side)**, **Fetch (backend-side)**, **Frames**, **Media**, **Scripts**, **Styles** or **Fonts**. 5. Select **Add domain** in the dialog. A message confirms **Egress domain added**. --- ## What happens next Capable reaches that domain directly instead of through its proxy. To change what a domain may be used for, use the edit button on its row. To remove it, use the bin button and confirm **Remove**: requests to it go back through the proxy. ⚠️ Approve only domains you control or trust, tick only the request types you need, and review the list from time to time. --- ## If it does not work * **Add domain** is greyed out: you have reached the limit of 10 domains. Remove one you no longer need. * **That domain is already in the list**: edit the existing row instead. * **Select at least one egress type**: tick at least one box before saving. --- ## Related ### [Site settings](https://help.gocapable.com/capable/site-settings.html) Every Global settings tab, including Egress. ### [Set up Capable for Confluence after installing](https://help.gocapable.com/capable/set-up-capable-for-confluence-after-installing.html) The first settings to check. ### [Known limitations](https://help.gocapable.com/capable/known-limitations.html) Behaviour that surprises people. ### [Administering Capable for Confluence](https://help.gocapable.com/capable/administering-capable-for-confluence.html) All administration guides. --- _Direct, but only where you said so._
