Turn on approval buttons in Microsoft Teams for Confluence

To let approvers approve or reject Confluence pages from Microsoft Teams, a site administrator turns on Microsoft Teams approval actions on the Microsoft Teams card of the Notifications tab in Global settings. It is off by default. Request messages then carry a comment box and Approve and Reject buttons.

#Before you start

  • You need to be a Confluence site administrator.

  • Microsoft Teams must already be connected. See Connect Microsoft Teams to Capable for Confluence.

  • Spaces that require a sign-off code never get buttons, because a Teams button cannot collect the code.

#Steps

  1. Open Global settings for Capable. In Approval, you can use Global settings under Manage in the sidebar.

  2. Select the Notifications tab.

  3. On the Microsoft Teams card, check Microsoft Teams integration is on.

  4. Turn on Microsoft Teams approval actions.

#What happens next

New request messages carry the buttons. An answer from Teams lands on the approval exactly as if it was given on the page, and every approver's card updates to show the outcome. If you turn the switch off again, older cards answer that actions from Microsoft Teams are turned off, and people answer on the page.

Approve where the conversation already is.
