On a published Capable Site, markdown appears as ordinary page content rather than a live macro. Both macros are published as rendered, sanitised HTML.

  • Raw HTML inside markdown isn't rendered. Bare web addresses become links, and straight quotes become typographic quotes.

  • External images are downloaded and stored with the site.

  • The document macro's Title, and the reference macro's stored template title, both become a second-level heading.

  • Diagram code blocks come out as styled code, not drawn diagrams. Rendering diagrams when the site is built isn't supported at the moment.

  • Capable Sites is part of the Suite or the Sites app. The standalone Markdown app doesn't include it.

Hiding Markdown removes it from the Capable navigation bar and the content byline menu across the whole site. It does not stop existing macros from rendering.

Space settings → Space Capability Settings

Auto shows the byline entry only when the page already carries markdown. Always pins it in every page's byline in that space. Never hides it there.

Global settings → Features → AI integration

The setting reads "Allow AI-powered features across Capable. Turn off to disable AI for all users." Turning it off removes the Studio (Generate markdown with AI) section from the markdown catalogue. Studio has further requirements of its own.

Creating or updating a markdown document through the Capable agent refuses anything larger, rather than cutting it short, and asks you to split it.

#Worth knowing

  • The document macro isn't in the Capable macro catalogue or command palette. The reference macro appears in both.
