When Quality is installed, Capable Search gains four things for finding and fixing quality problems across many pages at once.

Quality column

Shows how many quality issues each page has. Exports carry the raw count.

Quality filter

Lists pages that break any rule you tick, such as Missing Alt Text, Heading Sequence or Capitalization (AP). It covers the ten content rules stored on each page.

Domains filter

Lists pages that link to a domain you enter.

Quality side panel

Under Tools in the side panel, subtitled View and resolve quality issues. It shows the same Page Quality view as the page byline, with Fix, Dismiss, Rescan and Restore all, and a badge with the number of findings.

#Who can do what

Anyone who can view a page can see its findings. Fixing, dismissing and restoring need edit permission on the page. Rules are set on the Rules page by Confluence administrators.

#Worth knowing

  • The Quality panel in Capable Search checks Stale content and Disallowed labels. The same panel opened from the page byline does not, and lists them as passing.

  • The panel in Search does not rescan pages by itself, so a long result list does not trigger a scan for every row. Select Rescan to check a page again.

  • The eight stored rules only see pages Capable has indexed. The five live rules (Disallowed domain links, Disallowed macros, Third-party macros, Stale content and Disallowed labels) count every page, so on a partly indexed site the totals mix the two.

  • Disallowed domain links matches subdomains on the page and in search, but only exact domains in the counts, badges and charts.

  • Disallowed macros matches loosely on the page and in search (either key containing the other, or a shared final segment) but exactly in the counts. A short key can cause false positives on the page surfaces.

  • Live counts, list badges and the Recent rule violations table are searched as the signed-in user, while the weekly snapshots are collected as the app, so two people can see different numbers.
