Find outdated Confluence pages
To find outdated Confluence pages, turn on the Stale content rule on the Capable Quality Rules page and choose how old counts as stale in Not updated in:. Save, then open the Stale content list in Capable Quality to see every page not updated in that time.
#Before you start
You need | Why |
|---|---|
Capable Quality, or the Capable Suite on the Advanced edition | Quality is part of Capable Quality for Confluence and the Advanced edition of the Capable Suite. |
Confluence administrator | Only Confluence administrators can turn the rule on. Anyone can use the list afterwards. |
No indexing wait | Stale content uses each page's last-updated date, so the list works straight away. |
#Steps
Open Capable Quality: select Capable Quality in the Confluence Apps menu, or in a space sidebar to see only that space (in the Suite, Capable, then Quality).
Under Manage, select Rules.
Find Stale content under Content & Structure and choose a level: Priority, Warning or Info.
In Not updated in:, pick 1 year, 2 years, 3 years or 5 years.
Select Save changes. Unsaved changes shows next to the button until you do.
In the navigation, under the level you chose, select Stale content. The list shows every page and blog post last updated before the cut-off.
#What happens next
Stale pages also count in each page's Quality byline and in the Quality panel in Capable Search. Opened from a space, the list shows only that space.
The rule is off by default, and its level is Warning unless you choose another.
