Embed a Smartsheet in Confluence
To embed a Smartsheet in Confluence, insert the Smartsheet macro, log in to Smartsheet and pick the sheet under Your sheets, or paste a sheet or publish link into Publish or sheet URL. Then choose under How readers see the sheet whether it shows as an Interactive table, a Read-only sheet or an Editable sheet, and select Apply.
#Before you start
You need | Why |
|---|---|
Permission to edit the page | The macro is added in the editor. |
A Smartsheet Business or Enterprise account | Picking sheets and applying a view use Smartsheet's API, which other plans do not include. A publish link you already have works without logging in. |
A choice about who may see the data | Interactive table keeps the sheet private. The two published views create a link anyone can open. |
#Steps
Edit the page, type /Smartsheet and choose Smartsheet.
Select Log in to Smartsheet if asked, and approve the app.
Choose the sheet under Your sheets, or paste a link into Publish or sheet URL.
Under How readers see the sheet, choose Interactive table, Read-only sheet or Editable sheet.
Select Apply. For an interactive table, also select Set up viewer access so readers without Smartsheet can see it.
Optionally set Width (empty means
100%) and Height (empty means500px), then publish the page.
Pasting a Smartsheet publish link on its own line also creates the macro. A plain sheet link creates it too, but you still pick a view and select Apply.
#What happens next
The sheet appears on the page in the view you chose. An interactive table has filtering, sorting and search, and stays private. A published sheet uses Smartsheet's own publish link, which works for anyone who has it.
#If it does not work
Apply is greyed out: see Apply is greyed out.
The macro says Finish setting up this sheet: open the configuration and select Apply. See this troubleshooting page.
The plan message appears: see "Your Smartsheet plan does not include API access".
