Show a Smartsheet to Confluence readers without a Smartsheet account
To show a Smartsheet to Confluence readers without a Smartsheet account, use the Interactive table view and select Set up viewer access in the Smartsheet macro. The sheet is then read through your private connection, so readers see the table without logging in, and nothing is published. The alternative is a Read-only sheet, which publishes a public link.
#Before you start
Option | What it means |
|---|---|
Interactive table with viewer access | Private. Your Smartsheet token is stored securely on the server and the sheet is read through it. Readers see that sheet only, read-only. |
Read-only sheet | Public. Smartsheet's publish link lets anyone with it view the sheet, even outside Confluence. |
#Steps
Edit the page and open the Smartsheet macro's configuration.
Under How readers see the sheet, choose Interactive table and select Apply.
In Enable viewer access for the interactive table, select Set up viewer access.
Check the notice says Readers will see this table through your shared Smartsheet connection.
Publish the page.
#What happens next
Every reader who can open the page sees the table. If you later lose access to the sheet, or your connection is revoked, the table stops showing data until someone sets up viewer access again.
#If it does not work
Readers still see a connect panel: viewer access is not set up for that macro. See this troubleshooting page.
Could not link this sheet. Readers will need their own Smartsheet connection.: log in again and retry.
Tables that worked have stopped: see this troubleshooting page.
