Logged-out visitor's views are showing but with no user identity

What you are seeing

A logged-out visitor's views are showing but with no user identity.

#Why it happens

This is by design. Logged-out readers are recorded with the account dimension set to "anonymous" and deliberately no Google user id, so they are not all merged into one person.

#What to do

Nothing to fix. Filter on the account dimension if you want to separate signed-in from anonymous traffic. If you did not want anonymous readers tracked at all, note there is no switch for that inside Confluence.

What it does

Measurement Protocol API secret

Settings > Apps > Google Analytics > Enhanced tracking

Unlocks the server-side events: search, comments, and page create/update. Not needed for page views.

Allowed groups

Settings > Apps > Google Analytics > Reporting

Restricts who can OPEN the analytics reports, including the macro's data.

Capable analytics integration

Capable Sites > the site > Settings > Integrations

Turns on tracking of the published static site, tagged with the Confluence space, page id, type and version so published views join up with in-Confluence views.
