How it works
Google Analytics for Confluence (by Capable) connects your Confluence Cloud site to your own Google Analytics 4 property, then shows the resulting traffic data back inside Confluence. Tracking is site-wide and invisible: a hidden background script loads Google's own gtag.js in every reader's browser and records a page view for each page they open, tagged with the space key, page id, page type, page version and a one-way hashed version of the reader's Atlassian account id.
