Saved searches
When you save a search, it keeps the query, the columns, the sort order and the page size, and other people can use it too. Search macros on your pages point at the saved search rather than keeping their own copy, which is what keeps those pages current.
Saving writes back to the shared object. If a page shows that search, your change shows up on that page too. Use Save as when you want a personal variant.

#Space searches and global searches
Section | What it holds |
|---|---|
Space searches | Searches saved inside a space. Anyone who can add pages to that space can save one there. |
Global searches | Searches saved from the global Capable Search page, available from every space. |
Built-in searches | Searches that come with the app. Open one and use Save as to make your own copy. |
A new search is saved to the section that matches where you are: in a space it goes to Space searches, otherwise to Global searches. See Save a Confluence search as a report.
