Save a Confluence search as a report

To save a Confluence search in Capable Search, build the search, select the save button in the filter bar, type a name and select Create. A search saved inside a space goes to that space's Space searches; one saved from the global Capable Search page goes to Global searches, where other people can open it too.

#Before you start

You need

Why

Capable Search installed

The app is part of Capable Search for Confluence and the Capable Suite.

Permission to add pages

Saving to a space needs permission to create content in that space. Global searches need the same in the space Capable keeps them in.

#Steps

  1. Open Capable Search: select Capable Search in the space sidebar or the Apps menu (in the Suite, Capable, then Search).

  2. Select New search.

  3. Add filters, columns and a sort order until the table shows what you want.

  4. Select the save button at the right of the filter bar. Its tooltip reads Save search as.

  5. In Name, type a name of at least three characters. The line above shows where it will be saved.

  6. Select Create.

#What happens next

The search appears under Space searches or Global searches with the number of pages it matches. To change it later, open it, make your changes and select Save search. That changes it for everyone, including every page that shows it in a macro. Choose Save as from the same button to make a copy instead.

Names can use letters, numbers, spaces and - , . _ ! ? / ( ).

Save it once, share it always.
