Index coverage
Coverage is shown at both global and space level, and it is the first thing to look at when a search returns less than you expect.
It refreshes while you watch, so you can tell whether it is progressing or stalled.
#Where to look
Level | Shows |
|---|---|
Global settings, Indexing | Coverage across the site, when it last ran, and a control to run it now |
Space settings, Indexing | Coverage for that space, and the same on-demand control |
#Reading it
Coverage well below your page count means indexing has not caught up.
Coverage that is not moving over several minutes is worth reporting.
A single space lagging is usually fixed by running indexing for that space.
#A few things worth knowing
Running indexing on demand batches the work. It is not instant on a large space.
Coverage counts pages, not macros.
Space administrators can run it for their own space without site admin.
