#Worth knowing

  • The edition gate is inconsistent by placement: the config panel blocks you from CREATING an Advanced field on Standard, and a STANDALONE Advanced field hides both its control and its saved answer - but an Advanced-typed field already inside a Form container renders and stays fillable on Standard, because the form renderer never consults the gate.

  • A URL field's placeholder cannot be set from the config panel, even though the stored value would be honoured - the panel simply does not offer the box for that type.

  • The All forms list is not permission-filtered: every Form ID, form name and page count on the site is visible to any signed-in user who can open the Forms page. The pages and answers beneath it ARE permission-filtered.

  • The indexed copy of a page's answers is capped at 28,000 characters, with a silent trim ladder: multi-value answers cut to 5 entries, then whole forms dropped, then the page recorded as carrying no forms. Answers on the page are never lost - only the index of them.

  • Forms silently adds and removes Confluence global labels on customers' pages, as the app.

  • In the standalone Forms app the byline item appears ONLY where a Space Admin has set Forms to "Always" - there is no auto branch, unlike every other standalone capability.
