Open a PDF at a specific page in Confluence
To open a PDF at a specific page in Confluence, keep the PDF embed (Capable) macro on the Slider layout and type the page number into Initial Page. Readers land on that page and can still move with Previous page, Next page or the page box. Initial Page only exists in Slider; Scroller always starts at the top.
#Before you start
You can edit the page, and the macro already has a PDF.
You know the page number as the PDF counts it, which may differ from the number printed on the page.
#Steps
Edit the page, select the PDF embed macro and open its configuration.
Check Viewer Options is set to Slider.
Type the page number into Initial Page. It accepts 1 up to the number of pages in the file.
Close the configuration window and publish the page.
#What happens next
Every reader opens the PDF on that page. To point people at different sections, add the macro more than once with a different Initial Page each time.
#If it does not work
There is no Initial Page field: the layout is Scroller. See Initial Page is ignored, and there is no previous/next or page-number box.
Pop-out or fullscreen opens on the reader's current page rather than Initial Page. That is by design. See this troubleshooting page.
