Every product has a shape people expect it to have, and this is where this one differs from that shape. Nothing here is coming in a particular release; it is simply not offered today.

The page exists so you can plan around it rather than spending an afternoon looking for a switch.

#Not available

  • Only the old app key is kept, for upgrade purposes; none of that code is part of the shipping app.

  • It was tried and deliberately removed because it added an extra call, a smaller size ceiling, and a permission pre-check that wrongly blocked draft pages. All fetching now happens in the reader's browser or via the URL proxy.

  • A streaming PDF proxy with a 20 MB ceiling. The code exists but nothing calls it, and no route exposes it. Linked PDFs still go through the buffered 2.5 MB proxy, so 20 MB must not be documented as a limit.

  • Customer-managed egress domains for the standalone PDF app. The feature exists but is enabled only for the markdown, formatting, diagrams and Suite apps.

  • Confluence page-export rendering for the macro.

  • Confluence custom content modules (Capable Custom Content / Shared Storage) in the standalone PDF app.

  • Suite inclusion of the other acquired embed apps. A development file referenced for that purpose does not exist in the repository; only PDF Embed is actually composed into the Suite.

  • The choice corresponds to no code path.

#A few things worth knowing

  • If one of these is the reason you are evaluating the product, say so before you buy rather than after.

  • The list changes with each release, so check the release notes before assuming it still applies.

  • Where the app's own wording differs from this page, believe the app.

Better to know now than hunt for a switch.
