Switching "Types of render" between Default and Canvas changes nothing.
#Why it happens
The option has no effect. It is kept only so macros created by the original Connect app round-trip without losing data.

Leave it on Default. If rendering looks wrong, try Render Text Layer instead.

#A few things that catch people out
"Types of render" (Default / Canvas) does nothing at all. It is stored and passed to the viewer but never used.
