Migrate Confluence approvals from AppFox

To migrate Confluence approvals from AppFox, open the Migration tab in your Capable app, tick Approvals for Confluence (AppFox) and its Page Approval migrator, verify, then start the migration. Capable reads the approval stored against each page and recreates its status, approvers, history and expiry. Page content is not touched.

#Before you start

  • You need to be a Confluence site administrator, and the account running the migration needs space admin permission in every affected space.

  • Keep AppFox Approvals installed until you have checked the result.

  • Section approvals and the status macro are reported only, not converted.

#Steps

  1. Open Confluence settings, find your Capable app and open the Migration tab.

  2. On Introduction, tick the acknowledgements, then continue past Options.

  3. On Select apps, tick Approvals for Confluence (AppFox).

  4. On Select macros, tick Page Approval.

  5. Press Perform verification and read the results.

  6. Press Start migration, then Download log.

  7. Open a few pages and check the Capable approval and its history.

#What happens next

Each page gets a Capable approval with the same status, approvers and their responses, expiry rules, quorum and history. A pending approval keeps its expiry rule but no expiry date, because it only expires once decided. Email notification preferences from AppFox do not move. Pages are found by AppFox's stored approval status rather than by a macro, so a space filter behaves a little differently here.

State, not content. That is why it is careful.
