Choose who sees Attio data in Jira
To choose who sees Attio data in Jira, open the project's Attio settings and go to Permissions. Pick the permission a viewer needs, from Project administrators only to Anyone who can see the issue, and optionally name groups under Restrict to groups (optional). A viewer then needs the permission and one of the groups. Everyone else sees nothing at all.
#Before you start
You are a project administrator.
You know which Jira groups, if any, should be the only ones to see CRM data.
Option | Who it covers |
|---|---|
Agents in this project | Anyone with agent access. Only exists on service management projects, where it is the default. |
Anyone who can see the issue | Every licensed user who can browse the project. The default on software and business projects. |
Users who can manage sprints | A team-lead audience on projects that use sprints. |
Project administrators only | The narrowest option, useful while you decide what to show. |
#Steps
Open the project's Project settings, Apps, Attio.
Go to Permissions.
Choose the permission a viewer must hold.
Optionally type Jira group names, separated by commas, under Restrict to groups (optional).
Select Save changes, or Next in the wizard.
#What happens next
The server checks the audience on every request. A viewer must also be able to open the issue at all; that floor cannot be configured away. Unlicensed and anonymous users never see the card. Adding a person to a group can take up to fifteen minutes to take effect.
This controls the agent card only. Customers on the portal see the separate customer panel, and only the fields published to it. See Show customers their Attio details on the Jira Service Management portal.
#If it does not work
Nobody sees the card: a group name may be misspelt, or nobody is in it. The card gives no explanation, because saying it exists would itself reveal something.
On a software project, Agents in this project is unavailable: nobody holds agent access there. Choose another option.
